BEFORE & AFTER
Pain POints
After interviewing multiple Ferris students about the issue, I mapped out the main pain points from the current registration process. These insights guided my solutions moving forward.
Registration Flow
To get a better idea of how these issues will be solved, I created a flow of the whole process.
Registering for Major Classes
Upon entering the site, students will see a registration information notice. From there, they’ll be directed to the "Degree Requirements" page, where classes specific to their major are prominently listed at the top.
RegisterING for General Education Classes
Students can scroll down to the "General Education Requirements" list to find and select the class they need. Once registered, they will be directed to the "Class Schedule" page, where they can view all their registered classes and see a weekly overview.
PLAN AHEAD
Students also have the option to plan their schedules ahead of time.
Optimized Recommendations
Classes that don’t align with a student’s schedule or aren’t required for that semester will be grayed out.
MOBILE SCREENS
Students can just as quickly register for classes on their phones if they are at work or in class during their registration time.
